New UK Schools in the 2014/15 QS MBA Rankings

Updated UpdatedBusiness schools in the UK were some of the clear winners in the 2014/15 edition of the QS Global 200 European business school rankings. Not only did 22 schools move up in the European MBA rankings, nine UK schools made it onto the ranking for the first time. Here’s a list of all the new UK schools on the ranking, including information on average GMAT scores where available and the work experience of their MBA cohorts.
1. Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham
Global 200 Ranking: 32nd
Average GMAT Score: N/A
Average Years of Work Experience: 8
MBA Programs Offered: Full-time, executive, executive (internal audit and risk)
City: Birmingham
Birmingham Business School’s industry partners include Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, HSBC and KPMG.
2. Aberdeen Business School, The Robert Gordon University
Global 200 Ranking: 34th
Average GMAT Score: N/A
Average Years of Work Experience: 5
MBA Programs Offered: Full-Time, Part-Time, Online, Information Management, Oil and Gas Management, MPA
City: Aberdeen
The majority of full-time Aberdeen MBA graduates (88%) took jobs in petroleum and energy. The average post-MBA salary is US$115,000.
3. Lancaster University Management School
Global 200 Ranking: 37th
Average GMAT Score: 601
Average Years of Work Experience: 8
MBA Programs Offered: Full-Time, Executive, Global Executive
City: Lancaster
The majority of 2012/2013 Lancaster MBA graduates (23%) took post-MBA jobs in consulting. Recruiters include Zinnov, Skye Bank, Grant Thornton, Deloitte and Tata Consultancy Services.
4. Kingston Business School, Kingston University
Global 200 Ranking: 43rd
Average GMAT Score: 550
Average Years of Work Experience: 3
MBA Programs Offered: Full-time, part-time, distance learning, executive
City: Kingston (London)
Kingston Business School was the first business school to receive triple accreditation from AMBA for its DBA, MBA and pre-experience MSc.
5. Hull University Business School
Global 200 Ranking: 57th

MBA Programs Offered: Full-time, executive
City: Hull
In 2011, Hull University Business School become the 13th UK business school to receive crown accreditation status.
6. School of Management, Royal Holloway
Global 200 Ranking: 59th
Average GMAT Score: 575
Average Years of Work Experience: 3
MBA Programs Offered: Full-time, part-time, international management
City: Egham
Royal Holloway offers 12 core courses and 15 elective courses, as well as unlimited career coaching sessions.
7. Brunel Business School, Brunel University
Global 200 Ranking: 61st
Average GMAT Score: N/A
Average Years of Work Experience: 7
MBA Programs Offered: General management, aviation management, healthcare management
City: Uxbridge
Brunel Business School recently overhauled its curriculum and student recruitment policies. The school also moved its programs into the new £29 million Eastern Gateway Building.
8. Middlesex University Business School
Global 200 Ranking: 62nd
Average GMAT Score: N/A
Average Years of Work Experience: 7
MBA Programs Offered: Full-time, distance learning, shipping and logistics, oil and gas, strategic management and leadership
City: London
All Middlesex University MBAs need to complete a project in order to graduate which involves creating a business plan or market proposal. Students also go on a residential field trip.
9. Management School, University of Sheffield
Global 200 Ranking: 63rd
Average GMAT Score: 600
Average Years of Work Experience: 5
MBA Programs Offered: Full-time
City: Sheffield
The Sheffield University Management delivers a triple crown MBA program in facilities that recently underwent an £11 million GBP renovation. Graduates are fast-tracked to gain chartered manager status from the Chartered Management Institute.
